Just to be clear on wiring, do we want the fan blowing onto the block and out the sides, or pulling air off the block?
I’m assuming because of the temps reached in the heater block and the thermal limits of thermal paste, that thermal paste is only applied to the cold end of the heat break and never at the heat block/heat break couple?
The not so obvious part for the noobs is that the first and middle pic, if zoomed in on, shows it’s the 12V version of the heater element. The last picture doesn’t show what version it is. The last pic is actually a 24V version. You can’t see that in the pic, nor is it labeled, but it’s 24V. Power =Voltage^2/Resistance. Why is that important? Heaters are resistors. Push too many volts through that 1.7509 ohm resistor (24V for example) and you’ll get 329 watts power. Waaaayyyyy more than the 80 Watts Both versions are rated for. You’ll never PID tune that scenario among the rest of the possible fall out that will ensue. I greatly appreciate whoever posted these pics however. Very helpful.
