  1. Before inserting the filament into Hemera check the tip of the filament. If the filament has been previously used there may well be a bulge at the tip. Using a pair of side cutters, or a suitable alternative, cut off the bulge to leave a clean tip.

  3. Check the white slide block is flush with the idler body.
  4. The recommended filament loading procedure is to feed the filament, by hand, until it reaches the drive gears via the PTFE tube. Once the filament makes contact with the gears stop.

  5. Using the LCD display and control knob. Open the menu. Select control.

  6. Select nozzle. Rotate the dial to set the temperature to a suitable value for the filament you are wanting to insert. Return to the Home screen and wait for the HotEnd to reach temperautre.

  7. Once the HotEnd is at temperature. Open the menu. Select prepare.

  9. Whilst rotating the knob slowly watch the tip of the nozzle. Extrude until the filament comes out cleanly and is the correct colour.

  10. Hemera can be loaded by pulling back on the idler finger tabs and feeding filament into the top of the extruder.

    • This is quite difficult and not the recommended procedure as the highly constrained filament path and filament drive gears will catch on the filament as it enters.

    • This method will be nearly impossible if the motor is energized.
